On 22 July, 2000, A tanker truck owned by Voss Oil Company overturned and released the entire 7,700 gallons of its cargo into an unnamed marsh near Union, MO. The accident occurred on highway 44 west in Franklin County. The nearby Barbeause River was not impacted. The driver of the vehicle was killed as a result of the crash and the hazardous material was not a factor. The state Department of Natural Resources is on scene. All material is contained by earthen dikes and clean up is expected to take several weeks due to the marshy area. EPA VII is FOSC. CASE CLOSED
