On November 9, 2000 Marine Safety Office Morgan City received a call of a spill in the vicinity of Stephensville, LA. This is 7.5 NM northeast of Morgan City in marsh land. Investigating Officer from MSO Morgan City estimated 4300 to 8600 of crude oil has spilled into the Oxy Petroleum Canal. This is EPA VI’s area of responsibility; they have requested CG take On Scene Coordinator and monitor the clean-up. MSO Morgan City has contracted S and H Company to conduct the clean-up.
