On December 16, 2000 at 0550, during internal tranfer operations, approximately 3000 gallons of number six fuel oil was released with 200 gallons entering the Ohio River. 100 feet by 300 feet of land area and .5 miles of shoreline on the Ohio River was affected. Primary cause of discharge was a valve failure. Marine Safety Office Pittsburgh responded, met with responsible party, and monitored clean up. CASE CLOSED.
