At 4:25PM on May 26, 2000 the National Response Center received a report of an 8,000 gallon gasoline spill. The spill occurred when a tank truck belonging to Kiel Brothers Oil Company, Incorporated overturned at 3700 Langrange Road in Smithfield, Kentucky. An unknown amount of material entered Bartlett Port Creek. A spill response contractor responded and contained the material using sorbent socks. At the time of the report approximately 3,000 gallons of material had been recovered using vacuum trucks. The Clean up operations continue. CASE CLOSED.
