They reflect both new incidents and follow-up information describing actions taken for previously reported events. On April 24th, the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection reported that Northstar Petroleum had a release of 7,000 gallons of crude oil from a storage tank at their Calhoun, Kentucky facility. The material released into Haines creek, which feeds into the Green River about a quarter of a mile from the spill site. The Environmetal Protection Agency On Scene Coordinator assumed control of the spill sight. The environmental response company, A.E.S. has been contracted to conduct the clean up. CASE CLOSED.
