On April 18, 2000 the barge S.T. 112 ran aground on the Upper Chesapeake Bay 10 miles southeast of the Key Bridge. The barge, carrying 100,000 bbls of #6 oil, was being pushed by the Tug ATLANTIC STAR. Lightering operations by Vane Brothers Inc. resulted in refloating of the vessel the same night with no pollution reported. Tugs will tow the barge to the Amerda Hess Terminal at Curtis Creek where it will remain restricted to port until a damage inspection can be conducted. THE FOSC for this case is Activities Baltimore.
