Description:

At 2:20 a.m. on December 07, 2001 10 miles south of Glenwood, Colorado on highway I-70 at mile marker 125, a tanker truck rolled over crossing a bridge in snowy weather. This resulted in a fire and the release of 6000 gallons of gasoline (automotive unleaded) with 1000 gallons entering the Colorado River. The fire was extinguished but the driver of the truck did not survive. Highway I-70 will remain closed to all traffic until the inspection of the bridge is complete. The clean up is being supervised by the Colorado State Patrol. CASE CLOSED.
