Description:
On June 26, 2001 at 0015 hours, a spill of 7800 gallons of unleaded gasoline occurred in Marietta, Ga. The material spilled from an overturned tanker truck operated by Penn Tanklines Inc, of Malvern, PA. An unknown amount of this gasoline entered the Chattahoochee River. A contractor is pumping out the tanker and the local Fire Department is on-scene monitoring the situation. A drinking water intake was closed for several hours, but has since been reopened. No injuries, fatalities or evacuations have been reported. CASE CLOSED. |
