Description:

On July 9, 2001 at 11:30 am local, a fire started due to a vapor release which resulted in the shut down of the refinery. Five materials were reported to have been released. The materials included: Carbon Dioxide, Hydrofluoric Acid, Nitrogen Oxide, Sulfur Dioxide and an unknown type of oil. Everyone within a one mile radius of the refinery was evacuated. Local roads 281 and 72 were temporarily shut down. The fire department along with other local emergency personnel responded to fight the fire. CASE CLOSED.
