On 2 December 1998 at 4:10 PM, salvage operations were being conducted on the M/V "Mark Jace". During the salvage operations 1000 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled into the Lower Atchafalaya River. The CENAC Company responded immediately. MSO Morgan City reported the spill was cleaned up at 6:51 PM on the 2 December 1998. CASE CLOSED.
