SITUATION: On November 19, 1998 at approximately 8:00 am, an operator at the Ford Motor Company Kentucky Truck Plant inadvertently hooked up the wrong tanks which caused a mixture of incompatible chemicals. The mixture created a hazardous vapor cloud, which formed for about 40 minutes. Local fire and police responded along with state officials. 2300 to 3000 plant employees were evacuated as well as an unknown amount of area residents. No casualties or injuries were reported. The plant is closed. CASE PENDS.
