SITUATION: Early Saturday morning, 05 September 1998, at 0315 hours, the NRC received a report that the T/B OCEAN STATE went aground for unknown reasons on the East River. Length of vessel is 495 feet. The vessel is single hulled. Total amount of cargo is 88,000 barrels of gasoline and 90,000 barresl of #2 heating oil. CASE PENDS.
