SITUATION: On Saturday July 18, 1998, a medium spill occurred from a tank at the OSCA Facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The tank had bumped into an adjacent tank while being lifted and sheared a bolt from a side access hatch which caused the hatch to leak. The company built gravel dams for containment and pumped remaining product from the leaking tank into another tank. A vacuum truck was used to clean up 34 barrels of spilled material. Some of the material flowed into a nearby bayou in which no impact on aquatic life has been detected. MSD Houma will monitor clean up. FIRST AND FINAL THIS UNIT
