SITUATION: On Friday July 10, 1998, the medium spill was discovered from an above ground storage tank at Vintage Petroleum. The release was a result of the tank settling and breaking a valve. The company was responding to the incident and was arranging for clean up of the spill. The spill was onto soil but an unknown amount of the material entered a small farm pond. The Federal Environmental Protection Agency in Region VI will monitor the cleanup. CASE CLOSED.
