SITUATION: The M/V Kuroshima remains hard aground port side to the shoreline in Summer Bay. The vessel appears to have settled into the sandy gravel bottom and remains stable with minimal rolling. Newest estimates place the amount of spilled material at between 40 and 80 thousand gallons. Approximately 60 oiled birds have been observed , including 19 dead birds recovered, 8 live birds captured, and 3 birds having been transported to a bird rehabilitation center. Shoreline operations also reported an oiled fox in vicinity of cleanup operations, no attempt has been made to capture the fox. The bunker fuel has been lightered. Clean up efforts continue along Summer lake and shoreline. CASE PENDS.
