SITUATION: On Tuesday, November 04, 1997, the T/V Shogun ran hard aground in surf line 50-100 yards north of Rota Main Channel Entrance. The vessel is carrying 6,000 bbls of diesel fuel and 750 bbls of unleaded gasoline. The vessel has taken on water. On 07 Nov 1997 it was determined that 10,000 gallons of diesel fuel was lost from the #5 bunker tank. Product was carried out to sea. No wildlife or shoreline impact has been reported. One attempt to pull the vessel of the reef failed. Dewatering and lightering operations continue. CASE PENDS.
