SITUATION: On Wednesday, October 1, 1997, a medium oil spill occurred when a tanker truck owned by Franson Trucking Inc. overturned on Interstate 894 and released 3500 gallons of diesel fuel. The spilled fuel caught fire and was washed into a storm drain which flowed into Honey Creek, a tributary of the Monomee River, a navigable waterway of the United States. Personnel from Marine Safety Office Milwaukee and Wisconsin DNR are on scene and monitoring the clean-up operations. CASE CLOSED THIS UNIT.
