SITUATION: On Monday, September 29, 1997, a medium oil spill occurred two miles offshore from Lompoc, California (Latitude: 34-40N, Longitude: 123-9W). The pipeline has been shut in and temporary repairs have been made. Shoreline impact consisting of oil sheen and tar balls occurred between Pt. Arguello and Santa Ynez River. An estimated 200 barrels has been recovered to date. Marine Safety Office Los Angeles / Long Beach will monitor cleanup operations until they are complete. CASE CLOSED THIS UNIT.
