SITUATION: On Friday, September 12, 1997, an oil sheen was discovered in the vicinity of Magnolia Field Marshland, Louisiana. The sheen was originally reported as an estimated 10 barrels spilled but more than 130 barrels have been recovered so far. A 2.5 inch flowline was discovered to be the source and was shut in to stop the further release of materials. About one square mile of marshland has been impacted by the spill. Marine Safety Office New Orleans will monitor clean up operations until they are completed. CASE PENDS.
