SITUATION: This updates the potential for a major spill, which occurred when the 730 foot M/V Canadian Mariner ran hard aground due to a loss of steering in the St. Lawrence River on Wednesday, June 18, 1997. The vessel had a cargo of wheat and an estimated 92,000 gallons of fuel oil onboard. The Vessel has been refloated and moved to Prescott Anchorage, Canada. No pollution observed. CASE CLOSED THIS UNIT.
