On April 30, 2001 at 0945 12,600 gallons of crude oil was released from a ten inch pipeline owned by Equilon Pipeline due to external corrosion. The material did not impact any navigable waterways, only some standing water and land. The release occurred in a rural area and no community impact was reported. The release has been secured and clean up is underway. EPA VII responded and the state environmental agency is monitoring the clean up. CASE CLOSED.
