Description:

At 1:00pm local time on the 19th of January a tanker truck rolled over while attempting to make a turn at the intersection of Route 106 and Trails End Road. The reason for the incident is believed to be excess speed. The driver of the truck was injured due to the accident and sent to the hospital. As a result of the accident 2,000 gallons of heating oil spilled from the cargo tank and approximately 1,200 gallons entered a nearby brook. The name of the brook is unknown. A contracted company is on scene conducting cleanup. Vacuum trucks are being utilized and it was estimated at the time of notification that 800 gallons of oil has been recovered from the brook. CASE CLOSED.
