Description:

At 3:55 p.m. C.S.T., on January 23, 2002, due to heavy flooding, a 1000 gallon storage tank filled with diesel fuel and a 100 gallon storage tank filled with propane, broke loose from an unknown location and are drifting down Caney Fork River towards the Caney Fork River Dam. The incident occurred in Rock Island, Tennessee. It is unknown if any material has been released. Tennessee highway 287, which crosses the dam, was closed to all traffic. EPA IV is the Federal On Scene Coordinator. CASE CLOSED.
