| Description: On January 10, 2002, at 0715 hours, a spill of 1300 gallons of number two fuel oil was discovered. The material was in a generator fuel tank, when the inline fuel filter popped off and allowed the material to release. The material overflowed secondary containment, flowed across a parking lot, and proceeded to enter a storm drain, which drains into the Loosahatchi River. The Memphis Fire Department is responding to the incident. The environmental clean up contractor HEPACO is also en route to assist with the clean up effort. CASE PENDS |
