| Description: At 9:00 p.m. P.S.T., on Febuary 7, 2002, a valve failure on a process unit caused 5900 gallons of sodium chlorate to be released into the waste water treatment facility at Fort James Operating CO. in Camas, Washington. There were no injuries or evacuations as a result of the incident. The release has been secured and cleanup is underway. MSO Portland is the Federal On Scene Coordinator. CASE CLOSED. |
