| Description: On 04DEC02 the National Response Center received notification of a 100 barrel crude oil discharge. The discharge occurred from a ruptured line on an oil well. According to a USCG press release, there was an Oil Spill Response Organization (OSRO) placing booms at the scene to prevent any more oil from entering the water. The cleanup effort has been temporarily suspended due to inclement weather. The cleanup will resume on Thursday morning. Ninety-eight percent of the oil spilled is on land. CASE PENDS |
