Description:

On July 16, 2002, at 6:25 am, 4,000 gallons of gasoline were discharged from a fuel pump at the Four Corners Boat Dock in La Vergne, Tennessee due to unknown causes. The Army Corps of Engineers are en route to assess the situation and may close the waterway.

Investigation of the incident revealed that a spill resulted from a car leaving the road and entering the lake. The total oil discharge estimate was 5 gallons. CASE CLOSED.
