| Description: At 2:53 p.m. CST, on May 17, 2002, a pinhole leak in a natural gas pipeline caused the release of 1000 barrels of natural gas onto the soil. The incident took place in a rural area near Mcpherson, KS. The release has been secured and the contaminated soil is being excavated offsite for disposal. There were no injuries or evacuations as a result of the incident. EPA VII is the Federal On Scene Coordinator. CASE CLOSED |
