| Description: At 0400 on 08 August 2002, The NRC received a report from Marathon Ashland Petroleum regarding a release of asphalt from a loading arm at an asphalt loading facility in Richmond, Wayne County, IN. At the time of the report, the amount of the release was estimated to be 10000 gallons of Asphalt Emulsion. The suspected cause of the release was vandalism and there is an investigation underway. The released material was used to repave the immediate area. The excess was placed in secondary containment for future disposal and the system secured. EPA V is FOSC. CASE PENDS. |
