Description:

At 6:30 am April 06, 2002, British Petroleum reported a tug pushing a barge struck a 24 inch distribution pipeline near Lafitte, Louisiana. The strike caused a spill of 75,600 gallons of crude oil. The pipeline has been secured stopping the spill. Garner Environmental has been hired for clean-up and is en route. There was no report of any waterway closures. Marine Safety Officer New Orleans, LA, is investigating the incident. CASE PENDS.
