On February 23, 1999 an explosion occurred on a 100 ft oil refinery tower at the Tosco Refinery Companies Avon Plant in Martinez, California. Three employees were killed and two others were hospitalized with severe burns. No hazardous materials were involved in the incident and there was no impact on the environment. OSHA will be investigating the incident. CASE CLOSED.
