On Thursday, April 08, 1999 the Tampa Electric Company had an explosion. A generator exploded following routine maintenance and during tests. Fourty-five people were injured, thirty-five were taken to the hospital. One person was killed. Fire Department people are on scene. CASE CLOSED.
