On October 2, the National Response Center received a report from the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection that an oil tank ruptured in Harrodsburg, KY. It was not known how much oil was released from the one million gallon above ground tank at the time of call. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Gulf Strike Team are on scene. The EPA reports the amount of oil spilled to be 38,500 gallons into the dry bed of Curds Creek. So far 20,000 gallons of material has been recovered and the Gulf Strike Team remains on scene to oversee the clean up operation. CASE CLOSED.
