On March 23,1999 the National Response Center received a report from the Kuhne Chemical Corporation about a 30,000 gallon spill of Sodium Hydroxide. The material was released from a 30,000 gallon storage tank which ruptured due to unknown reasons. 1,000 gallons of the material entered the Hackensack River. At the time of the call no actions had been taken to recover the material in the river. CASE CLOSED THIS UNIT.
