Flash flooding following the passage of Hurricane Floyd, resulted in approximately 150 tanks and drums floating in the Raritan River in Sommerset County, New Jersey. Coast Guard Activities New York and contractors have recovered 115 assorted 55-gallon drums and several small to medium sized tanks to date. The drums are being delivered to an Environmental Protection Agency staging area. The drums and tanks contain propane, acetone nitrate, butyl alcohol, methyl hepenone, tert butyl alcohol, heptane, methylpropylamine, adhesives with several constituents, several unknown, and several empty drums.
