Flash flooding following the passage of Hurricane Floyd, resulted in approximately 150 tanks and drums floating in the Raritan River in Sommerset County, New Jersey. The drums are being held at the River Road Bridge near Bound Brook, New Jersey due to the high water. A contractor has been hired to recover and deliver the drums and tanks to the Environmental Protection Agency''s staging area. The Captain of the Port New York and the contracted company have recovered 58 assorted 55 gallon drums and several small to medium sized tanks. The drums and tanks contain propane, acetone nitrate, butyl alcohol, methyl hepenone, tert butyl alcohol, methylpropylamine, adhesives, several with unknown substances and several empty barrels.
